Constructed of timber from the once-common American Chestnut tree, Hilary’s House is a log home that was built around 1780. German-styled corner cuts in the logs tell of its early construction. It was designed with all the traditional appointments of the era in mind – the family bed upstairs, the stone hearth and fireplace downstairs, accordion shutters and opposing windows in every room for maximum ventilation and views.

Relax in a pine rocking chair on the porch deck in the evening. When night falls, watch the stars fill up the sky.

Hilary’s House sleeps 4. There is a queen-size sofa bed in the living room, and the upstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed. It has a fully equipped kitchen and modern bath, a stereo CD player, air conditioning, heat and more than a few perfect nooks for curling up and reading. It’s been lovingly restored and is furnished with antiques.
